About
I’ve spent a decade helping philanthropies, public agencies and nonprofit organizations turn complex ideas and policy knowledge into communications that move people and shape decisions.
What started as a knack for storytelling and persuasion evolved into a passion for public sector communications when I volunteered for a few Long Beach-based nonprofits. While earning a bachelor’s in journalism and public relations and working at student governance and programming organization Associated Students, Inc., I cut my teeth in the “hard skills” of communications: writing and editing, media relations, communications infrastructure, campaign development, and more. I became a communications generalist.
I served for four years as Director of Communications at Servant Partners, a global nonprofit organization advancing holistic transformation in urban marginalized communities, where I improved and stewarded corporate communications during seasons of organizational change and crisis response. Concurrently, I developed a deep interest in public policy analysis and research while earning a Master of Public Policy and Administration.
Blending these dual experiences, I’ve now spent the last two years consulting for several philanthropic, nonprofit, state, and county programs at Sierra Health Foundation—a $280M+ health equity-focused foundation and nonprofit intermediary in Northern California. Here, I walk organizations through the full life-cycle of communications systems and projects, translate complex policy data or insights into high-leverage assets, and provide written, graphic, web, and project management expertise.
Across this decade of work, I’ve honed my expertise and my distinctives. I specialize in strategic communications consultation for public, private and nonprofit firms, policy communications, writing and editing, and AI-powered graphic and website design. All my work is grounded in five core principles: beauty, clarity, brevity, efficiency, and user-centered design. I believe 90% of gold-standard communications is achievable with this criteria—and I’m excited to help you discover how. Let’s connect!
